Summary

I found that I was not as excited I've felt in reading this as I read book one。 In my opinion, 1st series is by far better ones : better storyline, better characters, better book cover 😬Not that I didn't enjoy indulging myself on this Courtney and Kyle's story。 It's still a nice thing to read anyway。 😉 I found that I was not as excited I've felt in reading this as I read book one。 In my opinion, 1st series is by far better ones : better storyline, better characters, better book cover 😬Not that I didn't enjoy indulging myself on this Courtney and Kyle's story。 It's still a nice thing to read anyway。 😉 。。。more

Cute! This is trope catnip! Sports romance, friends to lovers, jerk with a heart, rom com movie references … I always enjoy Whitney G’s book and this book is no exception。 They are a great palate cleanser for me。 I can’t help but get wrapped up in all the crazy that leads to a HEA。

I loved book 1 of this series and didn’t know there was a book 2! I loved this story just as much as the first! Whitney does a fabulous job at writing books that take you from past to present! She really weaves the story together and makes it all fit perfectly! Courtney and Kyle had major sparks and though some of those were of hate I will say as their contempt waned and they discovered who the other was their sparks turned into flames and their chemistry just burned through the pages!

I love, love, love Whitney G’s stories, especially on audible。 The narrators she chooses bring her characters to life perfectly。 The journey of Kyle and Courtney was sweet and a perfect start to 2022。

What a fun sweet book that was made even better with the fantastic narration。 The story: Kyle is a football star that is at first enemies, then friends, then more, with Courtney。 The story goes back and forth between college and present times and while I tend to not like that as much, I did enjoy the story the way it was written。 The big fight was initially a “huh, that broke up this friendship??” Kind of moment for me but Whitney G did such an amazing job piecing the story together to make me f What a fun sweet book that was made even better with the fantastic narration。 The story: Kyle is a football star that is at first enemies, then friends, then more, with Courtney。 The story goes back and forth between college and present times and while I tend to not like that as much, I did enjoy the story the way it was written。 The big fight was initially a “huh, that broke up this friendship??” Kind of moment for me but Whitney G did such an amazing job piecing the story together to make me fall absolutely in love with this couple。 What a fun story! Flipping back and forth between then and now was annoying at first but I rolled with it… glad I did, good book

Someone needs to grow, evolve or just keep up with the times and soon。In 2021 I can’t read about false rape allegations used as a PLOT DEVICE。 Fck that。 The “hero” wants his hookups to agree to sex via text, so there’s “proof” of consent…I believe I don’t have to explain why this is so fcked up and not how consent works。 And of course this was glossed over and never addressed。These stories are embarrassingly the same every freaking time。 It’s getting boring and annoying。

The second installment of the series。 Although I enjoyed reading about the first part of the book, the second one kinda disappoint me。 However, I felt the whole thing was a bit flat for me。 It was entertaining reading about their high school interactions and then their relationship。 Kyle was a regular playboy jock who were used to girls falling all over him。 Courtney was the more serious one, a writer who wanted to be a journalist。 These two couldn't be more different but somehow they found sola The second installment of the series。 Although I enjoyed reading about the first part of the book, the second one kinda disappoint me。 However, I felt the whole thing was a bit flat for me。 It was entertaining reading about their high school interactions and then their relationship。 Kyle was a regular playboy jock who were used to girls falling all over him。 Courtney was the more serious one, a writer who wanted to be a journalist。 These two couldn't be more different but somehow they found solace in each other。 To top my dissatisfaction, the whole reason for their breaking apart was inconsequential; it was utterly insignificant and should not warrant their years of estrangement。 There was no angst whatsoever。 I think you could skip this one。 。。。more

Whitney G never disappoints。 I love her writing so much。 I had just read a string of books that I just could not get into and started thinking that it must be me because there is no way 5 books in a row could just be so meh。 And then I read a Whitney G book and realize that no it’s not me, it’s those books LOL。 Her writing keeps you interested, the stories are good, the pacing is good, the dialogue is great, even when she’s writing about something that doesn’t even make sense - it’s still someho Whitney G never disappoints。 I love her writing so much。 I had just read a string of books that I just could not get into and started thinking that it must be me because there is no way 5 books in a row could just be so meh。 And then I read a Whitney G book and realize that no it’s not me, it’s those books LOL。 Her writing keeps you interested, the stories are good, the pacing is good, the dialogue is great, even when she’s writing about something that doesn’t even make sense - it’s still somehow good!! 3。5 stars。 ONCE Again we have a dramatic villain who is the main reason why this couple can't be together。 The miscommunication trope is a bit stretched here and it was frustrating。 Overall, still entertaining。 3。5 stars。 ONCE Again we have a dramatic villain who is the main reason why this couple can't be together。 The miscommunication trope is a bit stretched here and it was frustrating。 Overall, still entertaining。 。。。more

I think the story was ok, I did like Kyle was really nice, Courtney not so much, everything the happen was her doing and yet she blame him for it。 we also go back and forward in there live, anyways, I enjoy the story。

This is Kyles’s story。 Kind of a enemies to lovers but also kind of a forced proximity romance。Kyle is facing backlash from his fans about a recent run in with the paparazzi and really wants to get out of town。 He sees an invite for a surprise party for Courtney (we know nothing about her at this point but can tell it’s someone he never (and will never) got over), he uses it as a perfect excuse to flee the city and angry fans。 Courtney hates surprises, first she is shocked by seeing Kyle then by This is Kyles’s story。 Kind of a enemies to lovers but also kind of a forced proximity romance。Kyle is facing backlash from his fans about a recent run in with the paparazzi and really wants to get out of town。 He sees an invite for a surprise party for Courtney (we know nothing about her at this point but can tell it’s someone he never (and will never) got over), he uses it as a perfect excuse to flee the city and angry fans。 Courtney hates surprises, first she is shocked by seeing Kyle then by the actual surprise party。 Her current boyfriend thinks it’s a good idea to propose right then and there, pretty much crushing Kyle and confusing Courtney。 We learn about their past throughout the book (time jumps are perfect)。 Kyle is the focus of Courtney’s senior thesis, forced on to it by her advisor she is to tell his story。 Initially Courtney cannot stand him because he bailed on a project freshman year。 It takes a while for Kyle to take the assignment seriously but once he does Courtney starts to see him differently。 She was always attracted to him and when Kyle finally kisses her, it’s all downhill from there。 Courtney accepts a writing opportunity in the UK while Kyle is drafted and slowly talk less and less, an argument between the two end them。 Kyle is not done fighting for them, but will Courtney be able to forgive him? Again, with the time jumps but so good! I liked that we go into the book knowing nothing about the relationship between Kyle and Courtney, it allows us to be fresh to the story。 This book was a little tamer than the other ones but still just as sweet。 Can’t wait for the rest of the week ;) 3。5 stars / 1。5 steam 。。。more

Disappointing 2/5While the writing was entertaining, the story itself fell short of expectations。 Like its predecessor, On a Tuesday, the final act was rushed and unsatisfactory。 There was no real feeling of resolution aside from the neat little bow of a HEA forced at the end。 There was just something off about Courtney and Kyle’s characters personalities that made their HEA come off as fake and inauthentic。 It was fun reading their back and forth, but apart from that I found it tedious to finis Disappointing 2/5While the writing was entertaining, the story itself fell short of expectations。 Like its predecessor, On a Tuesday, the final act was rushed and unsatisfactory。 There was no real feeling of resolution aside from the neat little bow of a HEA forced at the end。 There was just something off about Courtney and Kyle’s characters personalities that made their HEA come off as fake and inauthentic。 It was fun reading their back and forth, but apart from that I found it tedious to finish the rest of their story。 Although I would have to say that their ending was better achieved than Grayson and Charlotte’s story。 。。。more

There were parts of the book that I loved and there were other parts not so much。 Kyle Stanton and Courtney Johnson first met their freshman year in college。 He was one of the stars of the football team and she was a cheerleader and journalism major。 Courtney had love/hate feelings for Kyle。 She hated that he got away with everything and slept his way through the campus but for some reason she had a crush on him。 Their senior year, Courtney's thesis paper has to be an interview with Kyle or else There were parts of the book that I loved and there were other parts not so much。 Kyle Stanton and Courtney Johnson first met their freshman year in college。 He was one of the stars of the football team and she was a cheerleader and journalism major。 Courtney had love/hate feelings for Kyle。 She hated that he got away with everything and slept his way through the campus but for some reason she had a crush on him。 Their senior year, Courtney's thesis paper has to be an interview with Kyle or else she doesn't graduate。 Kyle is always the life of the party and every girl on campus wants him except for Courtney。 Kyle never gives interviews, while his best friend Grayson Connors gives interviews left and right, Kyle doesn't trust anyone to do him justice。 I liked that as Courtney spends more time with Kyle, she gets to know the real him and they start a great friendship。 Kyle has never had a girl who was only a friend and spending time with Courtney was some of the best time he's had in college。 In that time, Kyle and Courtney kind of start dating but they never put a label on their relationship。 Fast forward several years later, Kyle's in the NFL and Courtney's working as a journalist but not her dream job, and Kyle and Courtney are no longer friends。 I feel like the reason they spotted talking was petty and they could have fixed their relationship years prior。 They both got mad and said some things in the heat of the moment, things like that happen all the time。 But they were both in their feelings and let years pass by。 Kyle decides to get his shit together and get his girl back。 There were times in this book that I questioned why these two were even friends but they understood each other and rooted for one another。 They were both stubborn and at times immature but they loved each other。 I liked the story overall but I felt like there were some things that could've been avoided。 。。。more

Why oh why miss G。 Why would you do that me? I generally start with a short summary but I just can't I am so upset right now。 I love Whitney G。's book。 I was very excited about it。 Yay! Will get to read a cheating free monogamous couple with a HEA。 But no。 She crushed all my hope。 I generally pick Whitney G。's book blindly but maybe after this I feel like have to be a bit cautious。 As said in blurb, boy meets girl, girl hate the playboy and now when she is not give him any attention he wants her Why oh why miss G。 Why would you do that me? Will get to read a cheating free monogamous couple with a HEA。 But no。 She crushed all my hope。 I generally pick Whitney G。's book blindly but maybe after this I feel like have to be a bit cautious。 As said in blurb, boy meets girl, girl hate the playboy and now when she is not give him any attention he wants her and so does girl because of course he is gorgeous。 So they turn from enemy to friends to lover。 Now after college they both have different way to go。 Four years of long distance and then forever。 Atleast that was there plan until they had a stupid fight and then just stopped speaking to each other for like 16 months or soSo far we have this cliched plot and story line and I am more than okay with it。 In fact I like them。 What happens next that fucks with my mind(view spoiler)[Now h have a boyfriend of 6 months (they haven't slept with each other yet) and H decide to pop in on her engagement / b'day party and he wants her back。 After that everything is rushed。 About there flashbacks from college, then her breaking the engagement, then H and h having sex the moment they are alone, there confessions and all。But what broke my heart the most was H sleeping with OWs during there separation and because he was famous h use to see this on stories。 I felt her heart break and tbh when her so called ex fiance told her this- “Kyle Stanton is not good for you, Courtney,” he said。 “He was a player when you first met him, and he’s a player now。 Please don’t be stupid enough to believe that he’ll ever change his ways for you。”I was kind of on his side on this。I don't know how you guys feel about it but I hated it so I will just leave a part of there discussion here“Kyle。” I needed to push him away, but I couldn’t。 “Kyle …” “Yes?” “Let me go。” “Tell me you mean that, and I will。” I didn’t say a word。 “I’ve never loved anyone else the way I love you,” he said。 “Never。” “You have one hell of a way of showing it。 You still haven’t apologized。” “You know what?” He tightened his hold。 “I’m sorry, Courtney。 I’m sorry for telling you the goddamn truth, when no one else in your life was willing to state the fucking obvious。” I tried to break free, but he didn’t let me go。 “I’m sorry that I was the only one who knew you well enough to say what you needed to hear, instead of what you wanted to hear。” “It was the way you said it。” “That’s what you keep telling yourself。” He glared at me。 “I’d said it nicely for years and you brushed it off。 The moment I was brutally honest with you, you took it the wrong way。”“Is that why you slept with so many women after that night, then?” My chest ached。 “I saw all those stories。” “That’s not the point of this conversation。” “You hurt me, Kyle,” I said, feeling my voice crack。"That’s not the point of this conversation。"he said。 OMG he could have just said they are fake or something。 This was so unnecessary。 I hoped and hoped that further into the book he will tell her that's not the truth or he waited for her or something, anything。 But it never happened。 (hide spoiler)]I am so sad right now。 To me it was not even HFN because if he can just go sleep with OWs, yes multiple, after this petty fight then they are not my forever couple。 This was so like Ross cheating on Rachel and keep repeating 'we were on a break'。***TRIGGER AND SAFETY*** CHEAT: For me, YES (to know why read my above rant)OM/OW DRAMA: YesAnyways this spoiled my mood but if you guys want to give it try, please do and lemme know how you feel about the book in the comment 。。。more
